Popular British names for 2025 are led by Olivia and Muhammad. Olivia retains her title for the tenth year running, while Muhammad takes the Number 1 spot for the third year in a row.

Muhammad, a highly significant name in Islam, has been in the Top 10 boy names since 2016, and in 2023 finally overtook the previous Number 1, Noah, in popularity. Two other spellings of this name also appear in the Top 100.

Along with Olivia, the top British girl names last year include Lily, Amelia, Isla, and Florence.

Along with Muhammad, the top British boy names include Noah, Leo, Luca, and Arthur.

The UK's most popular baby names include the names of young Princes George and Archie in the Top 20, and Princess Charlotte at Number 25 for girls.

Royal dad names Harry and William are at Number 19 and 25 respectively, but both have fallen significantly in the last decade.

Unique baby names that rank among the UK's top 100 baby names include Lottie, Darcie, Orla, and Ayla for girls; Reggie, Albie, Harrison, and Sonny for boys. English names particularly popular in the UK include classics like Lily and Jack.
