About Myles
This alternate spelling of Miles has its fans, among them Myles-parents Eddie Murphy and Lars Ulrich. Pro basketball player Myles Turner uses this spelling. The Myles spelling is also associated with Pilgrim Myles Standish and so can make one of the classic Thanksgiving baby names.
Myles and Miles are both offshoots of Milo, among the rare names that have two opposing meanings. Noah, which can mean both rest and motion, is the best-known example of this.
Myles is also given to girls, where it ranks #6481 in the US.
Pronounced MYLZ.
As of October 2026, Myles ranked #100 in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #99 in 2024, Nameberry popularity #237.
