It doesn't have to be feminine nor do guys names have to be masculine.

This doesn't bother me for a girl and I certainly have no issue with use on a boy. It reminds me of Lenna. Perhaps the fact that it isn't very popular either way helps make it acceptable for girls. In full disclosure I've always had a thing for unisex names.

Sounds way too masculine.. there isn't anything at all feminine about this name, IMHO. What are you going to nickname her? Lenny? That's even more masculine.

I agree

It is a beautiful name for a girl. Nickname Leni. If you like it, go for it. No matter what the hatters say online.

To me this name sounds way to boyish to be a girls name. Makes me think of the name Lenny, which is completely masculine...I love love love John Lennon but this name on a girl...ouch.

I've decided that I like Lennon better for a girl but it's great for a boy as well. I think it's cute. It has the en sound without being a millennial trend. I might actually have to put this on my list now!

I think it's way better on a boy, plus it sort of reminds me of a lemon.....

No intention to offend you or anything, but why? I do prefer Lennon on a boy, and I'd rather it for a middle name and especially for a last name, but there are much worse names imo.

Shishi Says:

not on a girl

My friend has a girl named Lennon. It's grown on me and I think it is cute!

Would be extremely ironic if she grew up to hate the Beatles, though.

I prefer Lennon on a boy, honestly, but I have no problems with it on a girl. I think it sounds cool and retro and would instantly bump a girl up into cool-kid status.

Maybe for a boy, Lennon is alright. But for a girl it's awful! And yesh, Jagger is pretty bad... especially for a girl.

Lennon probably isn't for me - never liked John as a person. It reminds me of lemons, though, and has a sunny feel.

I'm still trying to make my name up about this as a first name. I think it's the lynn and popular n sound that make people choose this name. I'm as big a Beatles fan as anyone though
