TheSlothPrincess Says:

Can't say I care for this one. I can't imagine anyone being called this, and although it might appeal to some as being biblical but different, I think it sounds very unpleasant.

snowsbeloved Says:

Used a lot in Latino communities. I have two 25 year old friends named Genesis, both Latina Californians.

I can't believe this name is in the top 100! I have never heard this name used on anyone.
I understand the appeal of nn Gen + biblical appeal, but I prefer Geneva.

SimoneKadele Says:

Same! I used to hate this, but now I quite like it, even if it's still NMS...

namergirl3 Says:

My fiance really loves this name for a future daughter and is probably the only girl name he has ever shown interest in. It's really grown on me. At first I was a little grossed out by the probability that she would be called Gen or Genny, but I had a dream the other night I was holding our little girl and called her Genny and it made me actually like even that nn.

jojobabyberry Says:

I just realized I love this name.

Plutophelia Says:

I knew a girl with this name in middle school. I love it, maybe it is because she was so awesome! She went by Ginny most of the time but I liked the full thing. Her middle name was Esperanza. Lovely.

ShunPun Says:

I tried to picture why people like this one, but to me, it just wouldn't age very well. Besides, I can't picture this being on a baby girl OR an adult woman.

strawberrydino Says:

I've tried liking this name, I just can't see it as an actual, official, professional, nice aging, name. It also sounds to me like freakin' "genocide". There is seriously no safe way for me to like/choose this name without feeling like I have to cringe or vomit.

Guest Says:

I used to really dislike this name. I thought it was kinda tacky for some reason. It's my cousin's middle name that she goes by sometimes and I've grown to like it. And the Genesis Rodriguez makes me like it even more. Genny is a cute nickname!
