Abcde

Taken from the first five letters of the alphabet, Abcde is a rare and polarizing invention. It made headlines in 2018, when a Southwest Airlines employee took a photo of five-year-old Abcde Redford's name and posted it on social media, mocking the name.

Abcde was first recorded on the charts in 1990, when it was given to five baby girls. It was used consistently from 1997-2021, peaking in 2009 when 32 girls received the name.

Pronounced AB-suh-dee.

As of October 2026, Abcde ranked #12188 in US births in 2023 SSA, peaked at #4481 in 2009, Nameberry popularity #745.
