My middle name is Magnolia, but it's the only name I ever respond to (Magnolia or Maggie, if anyone calls me Esme or Nola or Lia I'll just get really annoyed)

I would love to name my first little girl Magnolia Everest Grace. All of my girls will have double middles, the first being unique and the second a virtue name, so this perfectly meets the standards! I have loved this name for years and think the nn Nolia or Nola would be stunning with it!

There is a little girl at my church named Magnolia and they call her Nola. She is beautiful.

I have only just recently added "Magnolia" to my list of favorite girl's names! I like flower names but this one is a little more unique! My name is Rose, which I like, but would like a future daughter of mine to have her "own" name :D I think it's a pretty name and, although I didn't think so at first, actually has quite a few nicknames available: Maggie, Nola, Noli, Lia, maybe even Mia. I am glad it's not too popular at the moment, but I believe it's cool and modern enough to use nowadays. Very nice name :)

That really is interesting.

I like the name but in the UK it's a very boring and really well-known paint colour,,,

Magnolia is the state flower of where I'm from so I'm a little biased lol! Love it as a name. It's classy and sophisticated yet still got spunk. Def on my list for a little girl!

Finally, a Nameberry description for a name that is not snarky, rude, or offensive--just informational and informative. Not to mention it is regarding a lovely name as well.

My daughters name is Magnolia Yong (Yong is my mothers name- it means brave in Korean) we love this name so much! To us, it means strength. Though beautiful and feminine, Magnolia's are strong and it is very fitting for our daughter! She certainly is strong and brave. Her nicknames are Maggie and Noli.

Undoubtedly girly and elaborately feminine, but not overly so- there's an element of liveliness, spunk and whimsy to Magnolia that really draws me in. I've always thought this was a beautiful flower name, and the flower itself is one of the loveliest you can name someone after! Magnolia has lots of accessible nicknames, too- Maggie, Nola, Lia, etc. This is one of those names where I'd love to meet an actual Magnolia in real life, and have a name-nerd geekout over her name :b

Magnolia is such a gorgeous name, I'd probably never been game enough to use it as a first name, but a middle name for sure! I think of the beautiful blossom first and then of Steel Magnolias, which I performed in when I was younger. It reminds of all the wonderful sweet, yet durable women in my life.

Oh, Magnolia, how I love you so. I am from Louisiana and this name holds so much personal meaning to me as I am now a relocated Utahan (Go Utes!) but still love to show my southern pride. Louisiana is in my heart, and I want my baby to love her roots and know she has southern blood running through her veins. Obviously we are proud of being southern folk haha. Magnolia Faye will be my daughter's name and I'll smile every time I say it.

This name means a lot to me, because it reminds me of the magnolia tree outside my family's old house in New Orleans. It's funny that Nola is a potential nickname for a girl called magnolia, because that's the abbreviation for New Orleans, Louisana. I always thought the flowers were so beautiful, and they smelled so wonderful...

Yes. 253 girls were given the names Bayleigh, Estelle, Kaidence, Kaylyn, Magnolia, Princess and I just thought it was really weird because there was a wide variation of names from modern and uniquely spelt to classy to word names.

I think it's funny that Magnolia was right next to Princess on the top 1000 as they're such juxtapositions. The same number of persons were actually given the name, but they're ranked alphabetically when it's a tie
