Aire

Aire for boys#4860 US

Given that he is an air sign, Aquarius, born on 2.2.2022 — considered angel numbers — this skyward, heavenly name is a perfect fit. It also has a meteorological connection to his big sister's name, Stormi.

Aire was given to fewer than five babies of either sex the last year counted, although we expect it to make a giant leap a la Stormi's name following her birth. Another factor in its favor: the resonance with the word name Heir, itself a rising choice (and celebrity favorite).

Aire for girls#13264 US

Aire is a poetic spelling of the word "air", once widely used in Middle English. Today, it's a brand new baby name, introduced to wider audiences when Kylie Jenner revealed it as the new name of her son (the baby previously known as Wolf). Aire is an exciting new choice in nature names and unisex names — one that is decidedly less materialistic than the homophone name Heir.

Aire was given to fewer than five baby girls or boys the last year on record, but this is likely to change now that it's attached to a Kardashian-Jenner babe. But that won't be the first time for Aire — it was recorded on the US charts for girls a single year, 1920. Noveau word names weren't the rage back then — the five girls named Aire were likely Japanese, as Aire is a Japanese girl name that means "love".
