So what if it’s a herb. No different than Poppy, Rosemary, Juniper, Jasmine, Saffron, Olive, Kale, Clementine, Ginger, Basil, Honey, Anise. Etc etc

Love this botanical, spiritual and virtue name. It definitely sounds more Female to me. It’s still unusual, haven’t come across a Sage yet

I’ve personally never used the herb Sage to make soup. Thyme, yes, but Sage? No. I do understand some names being ruined by certain people, though. I have a few of those myself like my husband’s middle name which is Blaine. I do, however, think Sage is a lovely name for a girl. It’s not masculine enough for a boy in my opinion.

Not every name requires a nickname nor do some people want them. I refer to my daughter as Sagey 🤷‍♀️

This is the name that we chose for our daughter who is due in November. I think it’s so delicately sweet and feminine.

I know a bossy snotty boy and girl with this name. I don't get it. It's something you use in soup, it's a medicinal herb. A name? Eh.

Sage sounds a little exotic but is still quite usable. Much prettier than Paige, in my opinion. It might also be a good option for a middle name, as opposed to the more generic Jane, Lee, etc.

Pretty, but doesn't leave much room for nicknames...

Love this name for a boy. It's kind of clunky and ugly on a girl.

I love this name. Simple, elegant and nature-y, unexpected, and it's great that it can also be a virtue name. I much prefer it on a girl, paired with a longer frillier name to balance out, for example, Sage Alexandra.
