This was the villains name in Elmo In Grouchland, played by Mandy Patinkin. He would steal everyone's stuff and claim it as his own. He was rotten to even his "friends" and had the most bushiest eyebrows I had ever seen.

This is the only thing that comes to mind when I hear or see this name

I agree, it's a really lovely name. Nicknames could be Hux or Hugs (which would be adorable imo....)

I don't like it much for either gender, but I think it is more feminine somehow.

Hux is a form of Hugh. A Lea is a meadow in Old English. The meaning of Huxley I'm familiar with specifically means Hugh' s meadow. A far cry from a barren wasteland as I've seen listed as its meaning before because of the connection to Aldous. I was going to use the name for a boy or a girl, but we had a boy. It fits him and his personality perfectly. Frickin adorable!

I saw this name in a baby name book and fell in love. The meaning of Huxley in that book was "outdoorsman" which my husband loved.

I loved this name before I met someone with the last name Hux, now the nickname Hux is no longer appealing to me.
