Kylo

The original Kyle has sparked many variations, including Kylie, Kyler, and Kylo, after Kylo Ren, the villain played by Adam Driver in the seventh Star Wars movie, released in December 2015.

.Kylo, which takes on the fashionable o ending, is a name exclusively for those who don't mind crossing to the dark side. It debuted on the US Top 1000 in 2016 -- and indeed, was the year's fastest rising boys' name.

Now, though, Kylo is off its peak. Its fortunes may be connected to the character and the film, at least in the near term.

Kylo is also given to girls, where it ranks #10534 in the US.

Pronounced KY-loh.

As of October 2026, Kylo ranked #402 for boys and #10534 for girls in US births in 2025 SSA, peaked at #373 for boys in 2024 and #7099 for girls in 2023.
