Managing to feel stylish, preppy, playful, and tough all at once, Scottie only entered the US Top 1000 in 2022, but rose 300 places in 2023, then another 400 in 2024. Though it is showing signs of rising for boys, it is given to girls 90% of the time, with 1517 receiving the name in a recent year.

Derived from the surname "Scott", which was originally given to someone from Scotland or who spoke Scottish Gaelic, Scottie's new popularity reflects America's current love for grandpa names for girls, like Frankie, Ozzie, and Lenny. On the rise in The Netherlands too, it has replaced Scotlyn which seemed to be making moves in the 2010s.

Celeb couple Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt chose Scottie Rose for their daughter, born in 2025. They chose Scottie in honor of Davidson's late father, Scott, while Rose is also Hewitt's middle name.

They certainly weren't the only ones to choose Scottie Rose, however. Youtubers Alyssa Hyde and Charles Davis chose it for their daughter earlier in the same year, while influencer Presley Gaspard selected it in 2024. For any literature lovers out there, F.
