As a lawstudent and seeing as papa and my aunt are both lawyers... That name just went from "oh, lovely" to "awesome".

In most countries where Ivo is well-used, the pronunciation is "EEV-o", so it shares its first syllable with Eva. The natural English adaption would be "EYE-vo", though, so with the I pronounced as in Isaac.

Ivo is my Grandpa's name, as well as my Dad and Brother's middle name. I also have a great uncle named Ivo. We pronounce it Eye-Voh. Love, Love, LOVE this name.

I've only heard it pronounced "ee-voh." It's somewhat common in Europe. St. Ivo is one of the patron saints of lawyers and he was known for giving legal help to the poor. Love that history!
