I hope you're right. As someone who just had a last name that started with "As" and I got a fair bit of teasing as a kid - even when really young "ooo! your name has a swear in it" etc. Kids are creative. With Aslan I could see "Assman" for example. Like I said, hopefully you're right. I love the Chronicles of Narnia.. there are a bunch of other names in there as possibilities - Edmund, Polly, Lucy, Caspian, Digory, Eustace..

There was a little girl named Aslan in my son's preschool class. The mom kind of seemed to say it like "As-lin" though it as definitely spelled Aslan. She called her "Az" for short.... I'm really not a fan. If I didn't already know her name it would have sounded a LOT like "Ass"
