I really love this spelling, even though I'm in an English speaking country. Something about the silent 'h' in Thomas doesn't appeal to me - I feel the same about Jon vs John. The simpler, international (to me) spelling just seems so elegant.

I get that this is the correct spelling in some countries, but wouldn't recommend using it as a phonetic spelling for Thomas, in English speaking countries. It causes confusion, and Thomas looks more stylish to me. I adore the nickname Tom.
