So pretty, and then the fierce lioness meaning makes me think of a beautiful but strong girl.

There's a small town in Wisconsin called Laona (lay-OH-nah) which I really like for a pronunciation. The Spanish pronunciation (of Leona) is similar.

This name is too associated with Leona Lewis. That isn't saying anything against her, but I prefer Leonie and other names, and can't be objective about a name that I can only imagine on one person. It's pretty enough, though. I can see why people like it.

My favorite girl Leo- name is Leonie (lay-oh-nee; love this!), but Leona is a strong second! It just sounds very lively and energetic, while having a grounded and very classy sort of vibe. I'd imagine a Leona to be a sunshine-y cheerful person- the name reminds me of the sun :)
