The most popular baby names in Croatia in 2024 were Mia for girls, and Luka for boys — both internationally popular choices holding their top place from the previous year.
Along with Mia, popular baby girl names included Rita, Nika, Mila, and Lucija. After Luka, the top baby boy names were Jakov, Toma, David, and Petar.
Many of Croatia's most popular baby names are recognizable as favorites across many countries. However, some uniquely Croatian names on the list include Cvita (pronouned TSVEE-ta), which derives from a Slovene word meaning "flower", and Borna, a traditional boy name deriving from a Slavic word for "battle").
