This is just a beautiful name with a gorgeous, spiritual meaning... I wonder about its roots

danirose01 Says:

The meaning is just gorgeous. I don't have the heritage to back it up though, as I would feel bad ripping off from another culture I don't belong to ):

ffwalcott Says:

Or the meaning can be beautiful alter.

Not very obscure in Southern California but not epidemic either. I think it's lovely but not my style.

I know a beautiful little girl named Araceli. She has black hair and green eyes. I like that it's a subtle nature name. It doesn't sound as nice without the Spanish pronunciation, though.

Guest Says:

It's an interesting name but ruined! I hate when that happens too! This is basically why I can't use Gabriella. My on/off bf cheated with a girl named Gabriella and now I detest the name.

NaomiNY Says:

I like the name Araceli, but, unfortunately, it's the name of this woman with whom my paternal grandfather cheated on his wife (my paternal grandmother). According to my mom, Grandpa had Grandma cook dinner for him and Araceli, which made Grandma uncomfortable. Also, according to my mom, Araceli herself was a nice person. But the fact that my Grandpa cheated on my Grandma with her, and then had the audacity to bring her home for dinner, kind of ruined the name for me (I don't know any other Araceli's personally), as I think using the name would be kind of an insult to Grandma.
