Love this name, but the only thing I can think of is the phrase "ix-nay on the upid-stay"

I think Nyx or Night would be good middle names.

thought the list of vowels in elementary school that I learned was "A, E. I, O, U, and sometimes Y" must be mistaken....

'Nix' is slang for 'nothing' in German....but maybe as a middle name?

There is a vowel, actually... Nyx is pronounced like Nix, the "i/y" is the vowel.

Living outside of the USA I see that there there can be a lot of things it can reference or have a neg. connotation. But I adore this name, the's strong and powerful and so many girl names aren't...

EW314 Says:

Love it but I wouldn't dare. I'd name a pet this though, with Nixie as a nickname.

This is a cute name that I can actually picture working pretty well. Go big or go home, right?

RoddyThlayli Says:

Although I find it an awesome name for a character, I don't think it would work all that well on a person. There's obvious English word connotation, as well as the fact that Nyx, in Greek mythology, she's the mother of Death. Go with Nixie instead.

There's no vowels... names need vowels imo.

I love the name and think it has a beautiful meaning, but because of the football team sound-alike, I would use it.
