Two of my good friends growing up were Cassie and Kassie and we had another Cassi in our grade. It's not a common name and I grew up in a fairly small town. This was their given name for all three of them. I remember when they would introduce themselves to someone older they would automatically call them Cathy. Older people had such a hard time understanding this name. It was a little funny. Personally, I think it's a pretty name.

Cassie is very cute. It's sweet and friendly. It could be a version of Cassia or, best of all, a form of or nickname for Catherine, as it sometimes is in the UK,. I have a Welsh friend called Cassie and she's lovely - her formal name is Catherine.
