Pop culture references aren’t going to ruin this name for me because it’s so much more than that. It’s beautiful and unique, definitely one of my top names!

paulapuddephatt Says:

It's a stunning name, nn options Belle, Bella and Trixie - but has been made almost unusable, via the Harry Potter series.

danirose01 Says:

Beatrix is much classier, without all the Harry Potter business to worry about. Bellatrix sounds kind of silly IMO.

beachbear Says:

This is a GP of mine. It's a lovely name with an empowering meaning. I doubt I could dissociate it from HP, though.

I love Harry Potter and Bellatrix is my favourite character so I would love to name my future daughter this.

I barely remember the book series. I like the astronomy connection. This would be a lovely middle name, at least.

I love the way this name sounds, I love the meaning, and I love the astrology connection, I just wish it wasn't so connected with a negative character. I hope someone creates a more famous very positive character so I can use this someday soon.

I think this name, as well as it's meaning, are beautiful and strong. Bellatrix was one of my favorite characters in the series. She may not have been the purest, but her name fitted her well.

jordalini Says:

I really like this name, and I did not get far enough into HP to even know of this person. I like this sooo much more than Beatrix.

I actually really like this name and its meaning.

malanienne Says:

We named our son Orion because I love greek mythology, constellations, celestial, etc. But mainly bc of the meaning behind Orion. When the next baby was to come I thought it would be cool to give them a star name from the Orion constellation. Bellatrix is awesome bc of its meaning "female warrior" but also bc it's the 3rd brightest star in the orion constellation. Now that we are pregnant with a girl I love this name for her. SHe can then go by Bella or Trixie.

raevynstar Says:

Too bad J.K. Rowling's books are so popular...I could see this really taking off if not for the character! :(
