Emma J Says:

Cool name.

Miri Says:

Huh. It's interesting, but not my style.

Theodora_Phoenix Says:

Well! Of course they are. And there probably are strippers with perfectly "normal" names . I guess what I'm trying to say is not to stereotype any names at all.

Hydra Says:

Yeah,I've noticed that....I don't even reject the term social justice warrior when its applied to me,but I agree that it usually does seem to be those types.A name is not gonna determine your career path and/or choices in life, but this seems difficult to grasp for many,to be blunt.

clairels Says:

And it usually comes from people who are social justice warriors who would never dream of slut shaming anyone. And yet in the case of baby names they make an exception for some reason.

clairels Says:

Not to mention offensive to strippers. Strippers are people too.

Hydra Says:

When did I say you did?Besides,it seems to be easier to protect your identity when you choose a bizarre name-at least to me.

cabosanmucus Says:

I said they choose terrible stage names. I didn't indict strippers as entire people. 😒

Hydra Says:

Is there something wrong with being a stripper? She choose an even weirder names than usual, though.

cabosanmucus Says:

She's a former stripper but her real name is Angela Renee White (well soon to be Kardashian, née White).

Hydra Says:

I'm pretty sure that the names they choose are just meant to protect their identity, like with a lot of authors.Besides,as somebody who's actually watched porn, there are plenty of adult actors and actresses with "normal" names, like Joanna and Erica. It's usually their surnames that are ridiculous. The actors with weirder names are more well known, because, well, their names are weird. And Blac Chyna isn't an adult actress;she does have a sex tape, but that doesn't mean she's a porn star.

cabosanmucus Says:

The thing is strippers and porn stars have terrible STAGE names. Blac Chyna anyone? Their real names are normal....

Theodora_Phoenix Says:

I think calling a name a stripper name is just plain disrespectful to all the people who have that name and aren't strippers. That's why I dislike that sort of comment and refrain from using it.

Hydra Says:

I don't really get what makes a name "stipperish" of "porn-stary".What I do get, though,is that it's apparently bad to be a porn star or a stripper, because sex is considered bad,and taboo.Especially if you're female, cause God forbid a woman be comfortable with her sexuality.Regardless,I think Bambi is adorable, and if a name like Posy can work, why can't it?

snowsbeloved Says:

Used to love this name. Still lovely but just not for me...maybe for a future fur baby.

Theodora_Phoenix Says:

Though I do agree that Disney making the movie probably made the name more known.

kitchi1 Says:

Ah, okay. Thanks for the info. Didn't know that.

Theodora_Phoenix Says:

But Disney's Bambi movie was based on a (non-Disney) book about a deer named Bambi, so yeah...

JessicaRK467 Says:

Love this comment! It's just what I was thinking! :-)

otheralix Says:

Well, I mean, porn stars take on all kinds of names. I share a name with many and my name isn't flimsy or porn star-y.

lesliemarion Says:

It's not flimsy; it's porn starry.

Zelliew Says:

Cute for a newborn but they all grow up. It would be embarrassing for a professional woman

Jennifer Kelly Says:

My cat has this name but it's a male and, yes, he's named after the film.

Zoey_Artemisia Says:

Tonnes of teasing potential

kitchi1 Says:

Such a pretty name. Wish Disney wouldn't have ruined it!

Nooshi Says:

I agree- it works really well on her. I think it is a pretty cool name, and were it not for Disney, I think it would be more popular.

Guest Says:

It works on the model Bambi Northwood-Blyth so one can't *completely* rule it out I suppose.

tiannarose Says:

Love this name. Critics be damned.
