Along with Olivia, the Top 10 girl names in the US include Emma, Isabella, Sophia, Ava, Mia, and Charlotte.
Along with Liam, names ranking among the US Top 10 for boys include Noah, William, Oliver, James, Benjamin, and Elijah.
The Social Security Administration’s list of popular US baby names was released in September 2020, calculating statistics from the previous year. The most recent list, published here, is a count of names for babies born in 2019. The 2019 list was delayed from its usual May release date by COVID-19.
The official list of most popular baby names is a guide to what names babies actually received in the US in that year. While it’s extremely reliable in terms of gauging naming patterns and popularity in the past, the time lag makes it less valuable as a tool for predicting which baby names will be popular in the future.

Note that the SSA counts each spelling and variation as a separate name, so that some names with many popular variations rank much higher than it appears from this list.
