The Top Berrybaby Names of 2012
This year, for the first time, we have–with the invaluable help of our invaluable intern Hannah Tenison, tallied the final name choices reported by Berries on the Birth Announcement forum. So here is what happened when all the hypotheticals were winnowed down to a single reality.
(Of course we know many more babyberries arrived this year, and hope you’ll all remember to enter your news in the future.)
FIRST NAMES given to more than one babe
The following were chosen three times:
Wren (also a Wrenley)
Those with three uses:
Some surprises here, with a lot more commonality. Six Josephines! Eight Jameses!
All the six-timer girls:
Jane (and one Janemarie)
And now for the multiberries born this year— where name nerds have had the incredible (and challenging) opportunity of picking up to nine names at once!
Lotus Mirabel and Eulalie Saga
Hope we didn’t leave anyone out! Any favorites here that weren’t on yesterday’s list? What would you name a set of triplets?

Emmeline Amelia Story, Jack August Hopper and Hugo Thackeray Fox-This has to be my stand out sibset of 2012. I have said this many times but it is simply perfect.

Oh yes I love august as a middle Emmeline’s first name and Story as a middle and Hugo’s entire name is fab!!!
I would name triplets:
Juliette Delyth October (Jules)
Annabella Rosalie Olwyn (Bella)
Emmeline June Ceridwen(Emmy)
Christopher Rhys James (Chris)
Timothy Finnigan Archie (Tim)
Owen Ianto Hadley (just Owen)
And any boy/girl sets would be a mix of those names…

Matilda Snow and Eleanor Ivy has got to be my favorite twin names that I’ve heard in forever.
Amabel Artemis and Felix Apollo comes in a close second, though.

I thought that there were two Beatrix babies just in yesterday’s post alone. Why didn’t it make the first name list?

Darn it! Forgot to submit my son’s name back when he was born in June! I’m guessing it’s too late to add my little ‘Desmond’ to the list. Oh well, there’s always next time…
Loving the names other Berries picked out though. Great job!

I LOVE sibset Emma Scarlett Paige and Lily Charlotte Grace!! Especially love the how the link between the twins is in the middle names with the rhyme in Scarlett and Charlotte; absolutely lovely connection but I think would be too obvious as firsts. Beautiful names!

I am the mum of the twins Miette and Ruby. Miette is french for crumb and it was because we both liked Mia but Mia and Ruby were way too common as a twinset so we chose Miette instead.
