Celebrity Baby Name Tattoos

Celebrity Baby Name Tattoos

Name tattoos have been around for ages, but celebrity baby name tattoos take the practice to the next dimension.

Some celebrity baby name tattoos appear in unexpected places, such as the face or forehead, as Cardi B and Amber Rose did. Others opt for more subtle name tattoos, like Orlando Bloom, who got inked with his son Flynn's name written in Morse Code.

Of course, there are plenty of stars who have more conventional baby name tattoos, no less the honor. Because just like a parent’s love for their child, tattoos are forever.

Here, 19 celebrities who paid tribute to their children by getting a baby name tattoo.

Celebrity Baby Name Tattoos

Chrissy Teigen & John Legend

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend opted for (almost) matching tattoos with the names of their family members. Teigen’s says “John Luna Miles,” while Legend’s is “Chrissy Luna Miles.” Teigen joked in her Instagram post showing off the tattoos, “hey guys please don’t talk to us unless u have tattoos we are a cool tattoo family now and we only want to talk to other tattoo families (srry if this seems harsh)”.

Teigen and Legend recently welcomed their daughter Esti, who will likely be added to the tattoo lineup soon. They each honored their stillborn son Jack with wrist tattoos in 2020:

Olivia Wilde

Celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo quietly revealed Olivia Wilde's tattoos on his Instagram account in December 2021. Wilde's children's names, Otis and Daisy, are written in "slim needle" style on her forearms. Woo captioned the photo, "Momma's love ✍️💕".

Offset

One month after his daughter Kulture was born, rapper Offset had her name tattooed along his jawline. There was some controversy, with fans asking why he didn’t have tattoos of his sons’ names. He responded via Instagram Story, saying, “I got my other boy right here, it’s Kodie…and Jordan, my oldest son, on the shoulder piece. Stop trying me.” His wife, Cardi B, recently got a baby name tattoo of her own...

Cardi B

Replicating the placement of Offset's Kulture tattoo, Cardi B had their son's name, Wave, tattooed on her jawline. The tattoo was inked in August 2022, but she had been thinking about it for months prior. Cardi B first hinted at a possible tattoo the previous January, tweeting, "Random but ….I'm 1% close too tatting my sons name on my face….I really really wanna do it!"

Orlando Bloom

Orlando Bloom made headlines when he showed off his Flynn tattoo — written in Morse Code — only to discover it actually spelled “Frynn.” Thankfully it was an easy fix. “Finally dot it right,” wrote Bloom on his Instagram after that tattoo was corrected. Phew!

Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea debuted her "new favorite & most special tattoo!" in April 2022 — a cherubic portrait of her son Onyx Orion, complete with a banner with his name. Her tattoo was done by artist Lua Hills. On Instagram, Azalea stated about her new ink, "It makes me sooo happy that this was executed by a talented woman."

Macklemore

Shortly before his daughter Sloane’s first birthday, Macklemore got her name tattooed on his chest. His wife, Tricia Davis, shared a snap of Macklemore — whose real name is Benjamin Haggerty — and their daughter on Instagram, showing off the new tattoo. Since then they’ve welcomed two more children, daughter Colette Koala and son Hugo, but so far there hasn’t been word of tattoos in their honor.

Emily Ratajkowski

Model Emily Ratajkowski got her son's nickname, Sly, tattooed on her foot by JonBoy Tattoo in June 2022. Two of Ratajkowski's friends — who work with her on her Inamorata swim line — joined her, inking Sly on their arms in different fonts. Sly's full name is Sylvester Apollo. He was born on March 8, 2021.

Adele

Adele famously did not reveal the name of her son when he was born in 2012 but was later spotted wearing a necklace that confirmed his name is Angelo. Even stronger evidence: in 2013, she had “Angelo” tattooed on the side of her right hand.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp is covered in tattoos, but two of them are especially meaningful as they honor his children, Jack and Lily-Rose. Depp's Lily-Rose tattoo is on the left side of his chest, right above his heart. The Jack tattoo is on his right arm, beneath a bird flying over the sea — paying homage to his iconic character Jack Sparrow as well, from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Matt Damon

Matt Damon honored his four daughters — Alexia, Isabella, Gia, and Stella — by tattooing their names on his arm in 2019. Nearby is a tattoo reading “Lucy,” a tribute to his wife Luciana. Celebrity tattoo artist Daniel Winter shared the photo of Damon’s new ink on his Instagram.

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore got inked — in her own handwriting — with her daughters’ names, Olive and Frankie. According to Barrymore, her tattoo of her babies’ names was a spur-of-the-moment decision.

When asked about it at Safe Kids Day in 2016, Barrymore said, “I had been wanting to do it, and then one day we were on our way to an appointment. I was like, ‘Can we just quickly stop at this tattoo shop?’ and I walked in and was like, ‘Is anyone available to do a tattoo, like, quickly, like right now?’” Apparently, her tattoo artist was unfazed. “He really had no reaction,” Barrymore said.

David Beckham

Soccer legend David Beckham has a plethora of tattoos with family significance. The names of his sons — Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz — are tattooed on his back, and “Victoria” is on his wrist, in honor of his wife. His most recent name tattoo is of his daughter’s name, Harper, to which he added the words “Pretty Lady” on her fourth birthday.

Michael Bublé

In 2014, Michael Bublé got inked with a tattoo reading “Noah,” in honor of his son. The sweet snap he shared on Instagram shows Bublé holding his then-infant son’s hand along with the new wrist tattoo. Bublé and his wife Luisana Lopilato share three other children, Elias, Vida, and Cielo, but as far as anyone knows, he doesn’t have tattoos with their names.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff has a collection of small, personally significant tattoos, so it’s no surprise that she chose to tattoo her son’s name, Luca (with a heart!), on her wrist. Duff gave birth to daughters Banks in 2018 and Mae in 2021, and we’re fully expecting tattoos in their honor sometime soon — we are talking about the singer of a song titled “Tattoo”, after all.

Grant Gustin

Grant Gustin welcomed his daughter Juniper Grace Louise in August 2021 and soon after, Dr. Woo tattooed her name on his arm. Gustin never revealed the tattoo on his own social media, but Woo shared a photo, saying, "Proud papa 🙌". Gustin also has an "A" tattoo in honor of his wife, LA Thoma (born Andrea).

Amber Rose

Amber Rose went bold with her baby name tattoo, spelling out “Bash,” the nickname of her son Sebastian, and “Slash,” her toddler son’s name, on her forehead. Her boyfriend AE Edwards also tattooed his forehead as a tribute to the boys, but with their birthdays rather than names.

Jordan McGraw

Musician Jordan McGraw is tattooed practically everywhere, but he found space to add the names of his children, daughter Row Renggli and son Grey Oliver. The Row tattoo, done by artist Mr. Cartoon, is on the inside of his left wrist, while Grey was inked on his right wrist by Daniel Winter.

JWoww

Jersey Shore star Jenni “JWoww” Farley and her (now ex-) husband Roger Mathews got matching celebrity baby name tattoos as a tribute to their daughter Meilani Alexandra in 2014. In between her first and middle names are the baby girl’s footprints — the tattoos were done just four months after Meilani was born.
