Baby Girl Names: Elegant, Exotic, Unusual
If you’re looking for baby girl names that are unusual but not weird, international yet familiar, we’ve pulled together this list to suit your style.
You may recognize a handful thanks to their star connections: Ilaria is the name of Alec Baldwin‘s Spanish-born wife, for example, and Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds named their younger daughter Ines just last year. The African-born daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is named Zahara, and actress Uma Thurman got her name from a Hindu goddess.
Here, 31 baby girl names that are exotic, elegant, and eminently usable.
- Inez or Ines
Which of these names might you use for a baby girl?

Some lovely names! Ilaria is melodic and I love Mairead, Saskia, Tamsin, Leonie, Neva, Cassia, and Flavia. Would love to be named any of these or have friends or students with these names. I teach high schoolers and am so very sick of all the boring names out there. I have great hopes for an upcoming generation of fresher names such as these.

I like Kateri, Persia, Seren, & Tamsin. Shira’s okay, but I prefer Shirin. Leonie’s okay, but I prefer the French spelling & pronunciation…although they’d never be used in the US (Léonie, Lay-own-ee).

Adela is lovely. I prefer it to Adele or Adeline, right now.
