I think it would be great in the middle, but I'm not so sure for a first. It's way out there and not a particularly attractive-sounding word in my opinion, despite its wonderful history and imagery.

I also can't think of any good nicknames: Satty? Turner? The latter could work, but it'd be a shame to turn such a unique, historical name into yet another trendy two-syllable, surnamey, er-ending name.
