I'm watching The OA and absolutely falling for this name! I haven't heard Prairie used as a name before the show, and I'm assuming it's where a lot of people will first hear it as a name. The character on the show is very strong and smart. I wouldn't necessarily want to name my child after a tv show character, but she's not a bad connotation at all. With all the popular nature names right now, why not Prairie?

Yuma Says:

I think so. It's not like Princess or Cookie.

FractalShadow Says:

This is cute. I like it a lot more than Savannah.

CocoaPuff Says:

It's beautiful, and fresh sounding. If Cedar and Sage and Juniper are legit now, why not Prairie?

Rachel Kent Says:

This has a lovely ring to it x

CocoWhite Says:

I think so. I mean, it'd definitely get a reaction out of people when they first hear it, but maybe that's what you want. I know some parents do.

I like this name, but would it work for an adult?

CocoWhite Says:

While it's definitely a very out-there choice, I think Prairie would make a wonderful name for a baby. It feels so refreshing to me and brings to mind the most beautiful landscapes.
