According to social security it wasn't ever in the 900's but it was #489 in 2004 and #893 in 2005, but it hasn't been on since then. I actually really like it, and Ye is a worthy namesake.

Zoey_Artemisia Says:

I think this is definitely a one person name, like Beyonce.

Guest Says:

Kanye is a "one person" name but on the other hand I LOVE Keanu so it depends on the person's personal taste I guess. If you name your kid Kanye people will know it was after Mr. West. (But ironically if you name a kid Scarlett people don't know if it's directly because of Ms. Johansson.)

LuckyT Says:

Exactly why not? It's no different than naming your kid after any other artist. Would I do it? No, but I wouldn't discourage someone from naming their child Kanye. I think it's a nice name

jordalini Says:

You not name your child after Kanye West. I understand this is a real name, but everyone is going to think it is after Kanye.
