Maybe you should. She deserves more namesakes. :)

Carla J. McCarthy Says:

This is the name I've been going by for a while now. Since I hate my real name, Carla. And partially because it's the name of my idol, Frida Kahlo. Might have it legally changed sometime.

lirio Says:

I love this name but its been vetoed because it makes my partner think of milkmaids with hairy armpits, apparently. Obviously that's not what everyone thinks, but that's at least one reason it's not more popular!

ashbee Says:

Vintage, underused, great meaning, and famous artist namesake. Why isn't Frida more popular?

Jaimee Says:

My daughter is Frida (born 2010). I chose it because it's traditional but not popular. We've not met any young Fridas. The Friday similarity is a nice pneumonic device to help people remember how her name is spelled!

bretak Says:

I really like this name! I don't know what it is about this name, but I just adore it. This is my favourite spelling of the name, even though it's not the original spelling. I went to primary school with a Frida (she'd be 19 now), and not too long ago a Frida moved to my sisters's school, and she's 11. The only drawback to this spelling is I'm constantly typing Friday instead of Frida because of habit.
