Hey, I'm an Australian named Ebony too! And yep, I literally hadn't 'Ebony and Ivory' sung to me last Wednesday 😂🤷🏼‍♀️🤣.

rayleemarie Says:

I could see this name becoming popular with names like Emily and Everly in the top 100, personally I find it prettier than those 2 names too

Piteco Says:

My immortal...

Thepandaprincess223 Says:

I actually think of a blonde girl when I think of Ebony. It's really sweet and has a charm about it.

kittylover777 Says:

I love the name Ebony! I actually imagine a pale girl with light brown hair and blue eyes, even though I know it means "dark wood." I also feel like an Ebony could have a sister Ivory and brother Onyx. All of these names I love!

Perilheart Says:

Hi my name is Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way and I have long ebony black hair (that's how I got my name) with purple streaks and red tips that reaches my mid-back and icy blue eyes like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me I look like Amy Lee (AN: if u don't know who she is get da hell out of here!).

yourlocaldumpster Says:

Hey I might know you I go to Hogwarts too and Gerard Way is really hot oh my god

Hi my name is Ebony Dark’ness Dementia Raven Way and I have long ebony
black hair (that’s how I got my name) with purple streaks and red tips
that reaches my mid-back and icy blue eyes like limpid tears and a lot
of people tell me I look like Amy Lee (AN: if u don’t know who she is
get da hell out of here!). I’m not related to Gerard Way but I wish I
was because he’s a major fucking hottie. I’m a vampire but my teeth are
straight and white. I have pale white skin. I’m also a witch, and I go
to a magic school called Hogwarts in England where I’m in the seventh
year (I’m seventeen). I’m a goth (in case you couldn’t tell) and I wear
mostly black. I love Hot Topic and I buy all my clothes from there.

I'm a Ebony, well actually a Ebony-Jay. Ive lived in London the past 2 years and a lot of people are shocked by my name (way more than anyone in Wales) I'm blonde with the palest skin aha. Its kinda a mean girls moment for me 'if your an ebony, how come you are white?'
I LOVE my name though, and people always comment on how pretty it is.

disqus_elAXLS4ZP1 Says:

Personally, I'm disappointed that Enoby, Egogy, Evony, TaEbory, and Tara are not listed as alternate spellings.

bootsie Says:

I love that it found a place in the pop culture references

Lilosh262 Says:

my immortal definitely ruined this one for me

Theodora_Phoenix Says:

I don't think that should matter. I have never met an Ebony, so I could imagine it on anyone.

Dspisces1407 Says:

I just absolutely love this name and I am not African American. It's a great alternative to the way overused Emily, which I also love.

Glow Says:

Cool! You shouldn't have to be black. We have Hazel, Asia, India, London, Blue and all those other names that do not describe the bearer. Glad you love your name. I met a white Kenya once. She wore it well. She said her mom had just loved the name. I'm black and one of my favorite names has always been Adelaide. ;)

emiliana Says:

This is my name and I love it. I think I wear it quite well and I enjoy being the only Ebony in my large school. Its familiar but not uncommon (it was top 100 in the year I was born and still is in Australia). I'm not black but it's not an issue no one really comments. I get Ebony and Ivory sung to me a lot.
