My husband and I both love this name because we both grew up on the Saint Croix River (pronounced Croy) on the border of Minnesota & Wisconsin US

It would be nearly impossible for a native English speaker to pronounce it correctly. And my first thought was La Croix [pronounced la croy], the fizzy water drink.

La Croix ruined this for me...

Not just unique name tied to an island or over an priced (but very tasty...) water. I like the name because of its religious ties. The cross reveals to us the awesome character of God, its a place of restoration and represents a "new life"... as I hope my lil prince will be a reflection of the cross in my life and in his. No matter how you (mis)pronounce it... I think this is the One.

I think they should have both. Those familiar with St. Croix will likely go with the croy pronunciation, while others who are aware of the french pronunciation will use crwah.

It used to have croy as the pronunciation. Glad they changed it though.

It says crwa, which is correct...

Exactly! I'm so tired of people on nameberry mispronouncing french names. Bleu is not Blur and Croix is not Croy!

Looks cool, but I really dislike the pronunciation (both NB's and the correct French pronunciation).

This isn't pronounced croy. It's more like crwah
