Alda's brother name Aldo has -- surprisingly -- been a mainstay of the U.S. popularity chart for decades now, and the related Alden is soaring up as well. This version has never really caught on, and we can't really see that changing. Maybe it's the association with Alan Alda. (Great actor, terrible namesake for a little girl.) Or maybe it's just the muddy phonics. Aida and Arden might be good alternatives.
