<p>Vasiliy is a masculine name of Slavic origin, specifically the Russian form of Basil, which derives from the Greek name Basilios meaning "royal" or "kingly." This classic Russian name has been borne by numerous notable figures throughout history, including writers, artists, and political figures. Vasiliy remains popular in Russia, Ukraine, and other Slavic countries, though it's less common in Western nations.
