Zoltan actually means "leader" or "emperor". It has the same origin as the Turkish "sultan" and it is one of the oldest Hungarian names aside from futuristic feel. ;-)

I knew a boy growing up with this name. They were hungarian bohemians. He had a brother named Shawndor. He went by Zolty. Man, he was gorgeous! I still find this name to be very attractive.

Zoltan has sort of a futuristic East European feel. The Zolten spelling sounds like some sort of medication that at first everyone thinks is a wonder drug yet a year or so later, it is taken off of the market and the subject of class action lawsuits for decades.
