I think it makes a cool nickname for Chris, but wouldn't use it as a full name. It reminds me of gopher.

I love Kit and Kester as quirky alternative nicknames for Christopher - or even as standalone names - but Topher just doesn't do it for me. Sounds too much like "gopher".

Okay! I've always said Christopher less like Chris-toefer and more like Chris-toffer or Chris-tuffer. Somewhere right between those two.

I think we pronounce Christopher differently. Topher is like toe-fer.

Is this pronounced Toe-fur like gopher or Tuff-er like the actual end of Christopher?

love this as an a nickname for Christopher. I just feel like "Chris" gets so overused and Topher is a name that transitions well from childhood to adulthood.

I have a son named Topher. We actually have a hard time getting people to understand his name. (Which surprised me.) I usually end up having to tell them it is Christopher minus the Chris. Not sure why the name throws so many for such a loop.
