Sillysarahlily Says:

I love this name and have done since I was 8 years old. In the future if I have a daughter, I'm naming her Roxanne

Europa95 Says:

Technically, the girl in the song is an EX-floozy ("You DON'T have to put on the red light, those days are OVER, you DON'T have to sell your body to the night" [emphasis mine]).

I think I prefer Roxanna, but it is a pretty name.

kayasam Says:

This is a really amazing name in my opinion. It's the perfect combination of sassy and sweet.

cyoung325 Says:

Ha! I've literally been singing the song the whole time I read this page. I like the name although it does have a "bad girl" image maybe partly because of the song. Still, I'd love to meet a little Roxanne one day!

headintheclouds Says:

Roxanne is one of the names in my head that I associate with glamorous and sassy personalities (similar to Veronica), except a Roxanne would have more of a wry, dry-humor type of sarcastic wit. Roxanne is a wonderful name with an interesting sound, and I think it just sounds effortlessly cool with a retro vibe. Roxie is an adorable nickname.

LadyOh Says:

Unfortunately, I come from the generation who likes to belt out the song, "Roxanne" by the Police whenever it's on. It's a song about a prostitute. Not the best thing to be associated with, but I'm sure that can be overlooked.

It's still a really nice name.
