This is the name of my best friend so I associate with her. In our high school there were three Renee's, one of which was a guy. Which was surprising since I graduated only two years ago.

headintheclouds Says:

Renee is one of the names I think sounds lovely and objectively like (love the Ren- beginning and the nickname Ren for this), but personally find rather dated due to its popularity within my mother's generation, and I don't love the name enough to look past my association and consider it as a favorite. Elaine, Karen and Colette are other names off the top of my head that I have under this category. Renee is very elegant and sophisticated though, and it would be refreshing to meet a little Renee (like under the age of ten) IRL.

Daiseymae Says:

A very classy French name. I love it.

Renee needs a better description on nameberry, this is shameful. It has a rich etymology. I was named Renee for my grandmother nee Ralyea.

There's something so classic and sophisticated about this name! I also associate it with the amazing actress Renee O'Connor (Gabrielle on Xena: Warrior Princess). I don't know why this name isn't more popular, I think it's absolutely stunning :).

I knew a little Renee. She was adorable! I can't believe how unpopular this name is! I thought it would at least be in the top 300.
