Jared's a very sporty, all-American type name to me; all the Jareds I've met have been athletic popular confident types, so that's the association I have. It strikes me as very modern-ish although it's an olden biblical name (unlike classics like e.g. David and Daniel), and it's one of those names that seem like it would be heard everywhere, but it's actually not that pervasive or popular.

One of my best friends' boyfriend is named Jared. I really like the name Jared. To get on his nerves I often times call him Jablue (instead of jaRED) because it's a very stupid nickname lol.
