this isn't even a pretty word let alone a pretty name. this is for the same people who like Rainbow, Cricket, and Zeppelin.

I feel like this is a name that a 15-year old white trash druggie would name her kid, thinking that it would be cute to have a 5-year old named Butterfly, and when the daughter was 16 she ran away from home, changed her name, and never spoke to her mum again.

FractalShadow Says:

Mariposa is cute!

Maybe the Spanish "Mariposa" will suit better? It's still ultra-feminine, but loses the hippie/stripper vibe.

Serious white trash name.

PoppyOrangey Says:

Maybe a cute toddler nickname, but do you really want your daughter the lawyer, doctor, etc. growing up with the name Butterfly?... She will most likely change it.

AoifeORegan Says:

I feel like that's not the only thing wrong with this...

Theodora_Phoenix Says:

I know it's silly but for some reason I really like it.

"Butt" is not a good nickname.

CocoWhite Says:

Could maybe work for a middle name, but I don't think I'd use it as a first. Too flowery and impractical.
