Fairy Oak Names

Fairy Oak was one of the many series that awakened my love for books. Re-reading the trilogy last week made me realize many things... like that the characters had actually very original nature names. Even doe most of them aren't even in the Nameberry database, I think they deserve a chance. And you won't find any other Nepeta, I promise. Note: I read the books in Spanish, so some names may not have an usable English equivalent. I tried to translate all of them, though. - Created by ViennaFz

  • Aberdeen

  • Adelaide

  • Acanthos

This is one of my favourites.

  • Bevis

I excluded all his sibling's names, but here they are: Billy, Francis, Tommy, Robert, Ryan and Evan.

  • Burdock

This is actually a last name.

  • Cecilia

  • Celastro

I'm not sure about this, but I guarantee you won't find another one.

  • Corbirock

    Another surname.

  • Dahlia

  • Duff

  • Edgar

  • Flox

Wouldn't use it as a name, but it could be a fun nickname for, for example, Florence.

  • Grisam

Not sure if this is a nature name, but it seems familiar and usable.

  • Hortense

  • Lilium

The character is a male. However, it could be a unique alternative for Lily or Lillian.

  • Luthier

    Another one of my favourites.

  • Malva

  • Marguerite

  • Melissa

  • Nepeta

I admit it, I love it. I wouldn' be brave enough of to use it, though. The character's last name was Rose, and I think it totally works as a middle.

  • Primrose

  • Pancrace

  • Pervinca

Pronounced like Per-VEEN-ca, it's the Spanish word for periwinkle. I like it, but it requires a bit of bravery. Think of Vi as the main nickname.

  • Rhiannon

  • Robin

  • Ruth

  • Salvia

  • Scarlet

  • Shirley

  • Vanilla
