Yazan

A cool, zippy 'Z' in the middle, a member of the two-syllable--ending-in--n gang that are so consistently popular, and with an unusual initial - it is no wonder Yazan was one of the fastest climbing names in 2024.

Used predominantly on boys, the name Yazan has a number of different origins. When derived from Persian, it can mean resolved and determined, whereas if it's derived from Turkish, it translates to "writer" or "written by". It is also linked to the Dhu Yazan, who were once an elite ruling family in Yemen.

On the rise in the US and in the UK, parents may have been inspired by reality TV star, Yazan Abu Hurira, who appeared on 90 Day Fiance, or by footballers, Jazan Al-Naimat and Jazan Al-Arab.
