Sanai

Sanai is a name of Arabic origin, most likely a variation of Thana, meaning "praise", though it is sometimes recorded as a variant of both Sana and Sanaa too.

The name briefly featured in the US Top 1000 in the late 2000s, and while it hasn't reappeared on the charts since 2009, it has been fairly consistently used, with around 130 girls receiving the name each year.

The name of a 12th century Sufi poet, a more recent bearer is actress Sanai Victoria, who pronounces her name suh-NIE - perhaps inspired by Hebrew name Sarai.

Sanai is also given to boys.
