About Daren
Daren is a name with dual-gender usage, though it appears more frequently for boys in most regions. When used as a feminine name, it offers a strong, distinctive quality with its crisp sound. Derived from the Irish surname Ó Dáirínn, meaning 'descendant of Dáiríne,' it's also sometimes considered a variant spelling of Darren or Darin. The name's meaning has been associated with 'great' or 'gift' in some contexts. For girls, Daren represents a trend toward gender-neutral naming that emerged in the mid-20th century. While never reaching high popularity for either gender, Daren has maintained steady usage, particularly in North America. The name conveys strength and simplicity, with its straightforward pronunciation and spelling making it accessible across cultures, while still remaining distinctive enough to stand out.
