I actually quite like this! I don't see how May and Spring are fresher, though - what with a lot of Marys, Margarets, and Marjories going by the diminutive May, as well as those named May in their own right, it seems a lot more overused than Verna, which I've never known on an actual person. Plus, who would want to be named spring? It's the least appealing of the season names, in my opinion, and I really don't see how it's better than Verna.

My violin teacher was named this. She was 96 years old when I started taking lessons from her, and the only person I've ever known with the name.

This is clunky, yet cute, plus the meaning is nice.
