EKC Says:

I have a grandfather who goes by Ty (unrelated to his given name). It seems to have served him well as a name all through his life. It is short, but I don't think it lacks substance, and no one ever seems to question it as a name.

LuckyT Says:

Well its done just fine for me so far in life. I don't think anyone is going to think twice when I'm introduced as Grandpa Ty. But that's just me

jordalini Says:

It has no substance to it.. Imagine a forty year old man named Ty, a grandparent named Ty, it just seems like a little kid nickname

LuckyT Says:

Why would it not be a name?

jordalini Says:

I no it is a nn for Tyler, but it doesn't have enough substance for a full name in my opinion. But my parents always use ty too, so I would see that as another drawback

Zoey_Artemisia Says:

My friend always says ty instead of thank you, so all I can hear when I see this is 'ty friend'. I'm pretty sure it's a nn for Tyler though.

I don't think is a name..
