I'm fairly sure India was derived from a real name (I think it was Indus, but I might be wrong) whereas Russia has no ties to a "real" name. I think that's part of it, but I'm not totally sure.

Why is India acceptable, but not Russia? Both are a bit...I don't know the right word, but let's go with pretentious...to use as names, especially if you have no tie to the history and culture of the country and like it simply because it sounds pretty. But that's just my opinion.

I love this name, but after everything going on I don't think we could ever use it. We're very involved in orphan care and it would be a horrid reminder of all the God forsaken things they're putting their children through.
