Gender: Female Origin of Neveah: Spelling variation of Nevaeh

Neveah Origin and Meaning

The name Neveah is a girl's name .

In the beginning there was Nevaeh, created as a name by spelling the word heaven backwards. Except is was most commonly pronounced neh-VAY-ah, which kinda seemed like it should be spelling Neveah, at least if you didn't think about it too hard. While the properly-constructed Nevaeh has been among the Top 100 girls' names for a decade, Neveah lies just beneath the Top 1000, out of sight but not out of mind: More than 250 girls were given this backwards-misspelling in one recent year.

Ok here’s the thing: If you’re considering Nevaeh, just go with Heaven, it gives the same effect (which is, just so you know, not a good one) but sounds better. But to go with Neveah…? It looks like you don’t care about the spelling.

I know two children in my neighborhood with this name (spelled correctly). I've always thought it had a beautiful sound, even before I realized it was Heaven spelled backwards.

HATE this name, always have, and it was/is very popular in Oklahoma. WHERE did it come from, and WHY??

Cringe inducing, and tends to carry the unfortunate implication of..."redneck".

This is terrible, but Moo for Miracle makes more sense than some nicknames suggested on here. :)

I don't dislike this name, per say,but Savannah is better in my opinion. Similar effect, but prettier and sounds more like a name.

I agree. Or if one wants a paradise name, why not Arcadia?

Nevaeh ia bad enough. But it gets worse when spelled this way, as it defeats the entire purpose of the name. Neveah spelled backwards is Haeven. How are you going to explain that?!

Plutophelia Says:

why not just name your baby heaven?or Nivea (which means white)?
