Hello, I am from Holland and have given my now 15 year old daughter Mazarine as a name. Because I love the sound of it, because the first 2 letters MA and Za are in my names. It is very rare which is great for her. And she is beautiful like her name! ;-)

Mazarine also means a particular way of dressing a bird (in cooking,) a small bowl in a bigger one, and a silver strainer fitting over a meat dish and used for draining the water from boiled fish. Mazarine can also mean a mazarine blue dress. (And that's just the nouns.)

I love this name which has nothing to do with margarine or magazine. Love the soft strong M sound and the exotic z sound. Very cool word, color, and name.

Makes me think of Margarine too. I think it'll make a nicer middle name than a first! Like Cardinal Mazarine :)

At first I read Margarine.

I'm not a fan of this name, it makes me think of a magazine. Though, if I met someone with this name I may hold a different association with this name.

This hasn't ever been on the SSA list! (Gasp) But it could make a really neat name. It feels exotic yet a bit frilly at the same time. It has lots of nickname options: Maisie, Zara, Rena to name a few. Plus it's an absolutely beautiful, brilliant, deep blue color. It would certainly be lovely for a middle. Also, it reminds me of the word "serene" which overall conjures images of a relaxing day on the beach.
