Love the name Madelyn!!! It is the most straightforward spelling and I think the lyn sound at the end is prettier than the line sound. Madeleine is just too confusing. My friend's sister named her daughter Madeleine and no one says it right. We decided to name our daughter Madelyn and call her Maddie for short! We are constantly getting compliments on how beautiful her name is and how they love the lyn spelling at the end! No one has mispronounced her name yet. I am so glad we decided on this spelling for our baby girl!

I tend to slightly prefer Madeleine, but this is the best alternative spelling, for me. I don't like Madeline because there appears to be confusion about whether you pronounce it in the same way or with the "line" sound at the end (as per Caroline, etc). It's a stunningly beautiful name, and I love Maddie.

I can't believe this is popular than the classic beautiful French Madeleine!
