The correct pronunciation of the word/name in French sounds more like jon-KEE but I have a feeling that it would be more likely pronounced with the kwil ending anywhere that does not speak French.

Not really a fan :/ sounds too much like the name of a pharmaceutical drug. There are so many more unusual floral names to choose from other than Jonquil!

I don't like Jonquil, but the impartial side of me thinks this would be quite a nice boy name- floral names shouldn't be exclusively for girls!
